AarhusKarlshamn reports increase in Q3 net sales

FBR Staff Writer Published 08 November 2011

AarhusKarlshamn, the Swedish-Danish producer of speciality vegetable fats, has reported that its net sales for the third quarter increased to SEK 4.462bn ($676.71m) due to increased raw material prices and a better product mix.

Volumes rose 5% due to increases in speciality volumes and the impact of the Golden Brands acquisition, which has a net sales of SEK225m ($34.12m)

The operating profit increased 6% to SEK246m ($37.30m). Excluding the acquisition related costs of SEK7m, the operating profit was SEK253m ($1.06m), an increase of 10%.

The company's largest business area - food ingredients, reported strongly improved profits and continued increase of value added products. The chocolate & confectionery fats segment showed strong volume growth and stable margins.

The smallest business area, technical products & feed, however, experienced challenging markets conditions and high raw material prices, the company said.
